The Digital Age and YOU
The Walworth Historical Society is in the “business” of collecting information about our Town. We are interested in the past (not just WAY back, but more recently, too). We would like to have photos of people, places and events. We’ll take hard copies, but digital copies would be GREAT as they are easier to store and to share. We are interested in having documents such as birth, death and marriage certificates, diaries, wills, deeds, abstracts of title, business records, letters, awards, etc IF they pertain to Walworth or Walworth residents. Again, DIGITAL copies are GREAT. We don’t have a lot of file space for more paper, but certain items can be accepted if they are of significance to Walworth’s history.
If you don’t have a scanner, we’d be happy to scan items that would be useful for our mission (and we can give you a copy of the digital images) AND return your original documents & photos. If you have any questions about what is relevant, please don’t hesitate to contact us. I bet everyone in Walworth has something we’d be interested in. Think about it.
