Happy New Year from your friends at the Walworth Historical Society.

Photos from our Soup & Spiritualism program have been added to our Recent Events
We have added more stories that can also be found in our Newsletter archives to our Walworth History section.
During the winter season, things slow down at the Walworth Historical Society. Weather permitting, our dedicated crew who call themselves “the filing committee” go to the museum a couple of times a month to update files and generally organize our collections. If we have questions from the public, they do some checking to try to answer those questions.
While we do not have “open hours” during the winter months, we’d be happy to set up an appointment for you to visit.
We have a NEW railing on our porch at the WHS thanks to Fred Switzer and Stan Weller. The original wooden one had deteriorated and has now been replaced with a plastic one. THANK YOU!
The Walworth Historical Society continues to put items in the Walworth Town Hall Lobby Display Case (next to the entrance to the library). We recently had a military display including a WW II and Coast Guard uniform. The current display is of 1907 photos of Walworth. Please take a look when you go to the Town Hall.
Walworth Town Historian, Gene Bavis and Wayne County Historical Society Director, Larry Ann Evans are heading up a committee to plan celebrations for the 200th birthday of Wayne County (4/11/23). We hope that ALL communities and organizations in Wayne County will take part in some way. Volunteers for various projects are being sought, so if you have any interest, please contact Gene.
The Wayne Historians Organization has created a historic sites database. It contains more than 1000 historic sites in Wayne County. Please visit: Wayne County Historic Sites
We would appreciate it if you would review the historic sites for Walworth. If you find errors or have additional information, please contact Gene Bavis. We also hope to add additional sites in the Town of Walworth and throughout the County, so if you have suggestions (and information, photos, etc.) for sites not listed yet, please let Gene know.
We remind you that we are STILL LOOKING for photos and documents about Walworth and Walworth residents. That is described in more detail: http://walworthhistoricalsociety.org/the-digital-age/.
Information about our upcoming programs has been listed on the Program blogs. We are still working on the program for Lincoln, so if you have pictures, stories or information about Lincoln, please contact, President Jessie Keymel or VP Bob Mogray.
