Mission Statement
The purpose of the WHS is to collect, preserve, and display items and artifacts that are of historical importance to the people of the Town of Walworth.
General Information
Membership:
Organized 1975 – 1976 with 143 charter members
Open to anyone interested in preserving our local history (see membership tab)
Resources Available:
Computer with scanner. Contains electronic copies of historical information, photos, newsletters, programs, etc.
DLP Projector: makes it possible to show programs on various subjects
Files: Contain paper copies of historical and current information about people, schools, churches, organizations, businesses, etc. (a listing of files can be found under “For Genealogists and Other Researchers”)
Scrapbooks: Compiled by Anna May, Dorothy Petty, Walworth Chamber of Commerce, Walworth Highway Department and others; contain local, national, and international information and photos. Most scrapbooks are indexed.
Local cemetery records: Digitized by Doug Churchill

Framed photos of the last several graduating classes from Walworth High School
Advertising memorabilia from local businesses
Period clothing
Current Projects:
Documenting history of houses & businesses in the town and people who lived/worked there
Interviewing long-time residents to capture their memories
Walworth Memories programs: Local citizens meet to recall and discuss topics of Walworth’s past; indexed notes are kept for each session.
Meetings:
Held third Monday of March, April, May, September and November for general public. Includes informative historical programs. May’s Annual Meeting usually includes a Pot Luck Dinner and November’s lunchtime meeting usually includes a Luncheon.
